We arrived in Bigfork MT last Sunday and we made it to Glacier national Park on Monday and we were able to drive about 15 miles up the Going-To-The-Sun Road from the West. We grabbed some guides and maps to plan our visit to Glacier. The rest of the week the weather has been rainy and cool in Bigfork and in Glacier rain, snow, and cold. We decided to lay over two weeks in Kalispell MT so we can hopefully drive the whole Going-To-The-Sun Road. The weather next week is suppose to be warmer so we can do some kayaking, fishing and hiking.

Beautiful pictures. Glad you can spend more time around Glacier Park. It looks like next week will be much better for you. It takes them along time to open the Going To The Sun highway. Lots of snow. How many months do you plan to be on the road with this trip?

Hi Al & Sue,
The East and West plow teams are working in the Logan Pass area and the locals say the Going To The Sun Road could be open by 6/25/17 so we extended our stay in the Glacier area until 7/2/17 in hope it will open. We’re not sure how many months it will take to leave here and go to Maine for Lobster and a seafood boil on the beach, but we hope to be there by Fall. From there we want to travel the South to New Orleans.
