Exploring Beatty Nevada.

Beatty Nevada is a cool little town known as the gateway to Death Valley.

I love the desert for it’s art. There is a closed Brothel in Beatty named Angel’s Ladies and they have an airplane out front.

Next stop is Rhyolite Ghost Town. These days Rhyolite is more like an artist colony than a ghost town. All photos below are for personal use and not for reproduction! The artists have copyrighted all their art displays.

Stay tune for Death Valley.

Summer in Oregon.

This year we’re spending the summer in Oregon. We’ve been standing still in Western Arizona but it got to hot so it’s time to go. We left Monday May 5th and our first stop is the town of Beatty, Nevada. Here’s some shots of the Nevada dessert on the way to Beatty.

More to come from the road; Death Valley, Twin Falls Idaho’s – Perrine Bridge, Shoshone Falls, and more TBD.

We got our Kicks on Route 66.

Yesterday was that day where you just can’t do the same thing you’ve been doing for another day. That can only mean one thing, we need to take a drive see something different. We started in the AG country in Laughlin NV.

2003 Desert-3156

Yup kind of an ugly day but the desert is as green as we have every seen it. We took some back roads over to Route 66 “The Mother Road” and followed it through Oatman, AZ to the out skirts of Kingman AZ.

Lake Havasu City 2020 Balloon Festival.

We’ve been talking about going to the balloon festival for as long as we’ve been wintering in Western Arizona and this is the year. The wind as been an issue in previous years, but this year the weather is on our side. We get to Lake Havasu City and the Moon is still in the sky and it’s about thirty-eight degrees.

2001 Balloon Festival-

The crowd is growing and so is the anticipation and off in the distance you can see character balloons being inflated.

The moment of truth the Mass Ascension, or not. I guess a lot of  the people fill their balloons but they don’t take them up. In the sky at one time, there was probably five or six balloons that launched from all over the city.

But the best was yet to come. We had been talking about rescuing a little dog to travel with us. So while we were in Lake Havasu City we dropped by the shelter and found this little guy.

2003 Chill'n-3171-2

It’s been so much fun watching him come out of his shell. The funny thing is I’m more of a cat person and Darla is more of a dog person. When we had talked about pets we thought it would be a cat and a dog. Chill’n is the best of both worlds. He likes to hang out in your lap, loves the dog park, and rides in the truck.

Our last hike in Southern Utah.

We want to welcome our new followers. From October to February each year we spend most of our time visiting our family and friends. Winter is also a time for repairs and maintenance on our rig and planning our Summer adventure. The photos below are from Red Canyon, Utah it was the last hike we did before we left Utah in September of 2018. We hiked the Tunnel Trail which is a half mile round trip and 253 ft. elevation gain. It’s a beautiful and easy hike. We also hiked the Photo Trail which is also an easy hike that goes throw the Hoodoo’s.

The Full-Time RV Lifestyle.

Life is a series of choices, the better you know yourself the more likely you are to make choices that make you happy as apposed to unhappy. It doesn’t matter whether you live in sticks and bricks or an RV there will be choices to make. The big difference is that you have more options available to you to changes your circumstance when you live in an RV. Make no mistake though life is still about choices, things still break, people still get sick, and life is still life.

I like to dream, its free and fun and there is only one rule; when your dream about all the things you want to do there are no excuses allowed! You know that little voice inside your head that tells you “you can’t” or “you won’t”. When you dream everything is possible! The real fun comes when you believe anything is possible and you stumble on to that dream that ignites your passion, gives you the motivation to chase that dream and before you know it your life has taken a new path towards happiness.

The Full-Time RV lifestyle is a DIY Adventure! Living in an RV is not a one size fits all experience. You will bring your up-bring, life experiences and your skill set to the party and from there one day at time you will build your own Full-Time RV lifestyle. Like anything worth having you will have to work for it, just remember to slow down and enjoy the scenery its about the journey not the destination.

For us we have been to some of the most beautiful places in the United States just check out the archives to see the pictures. This has been an amazing lifestyle for us our only regret is at times we are so far away from our family and our friends with miss them deeply.

The Narrows, Zion National Park

Hiking the Narrows was beautiful and challenging with the current in the river and the bottom full of rocks keeping a good footing was interesting. We used one walking stick if we had to do it again we would use two. We have been trying to do this hike for a couple of years now but the Narrows have been closed when we’re in town. It was well worth the wait.
