This was an active military installation from the civil war days until the end of WWII. Chill’n enjoyed the soft grass.

We wanted to check out the Northern Oregon Coast so we headed out to Astoria, Oregon. On the way back we stopped at Fort Stevens State Park and met up with one of our neighbors from Arizona and they showed us around.
Friday was a warm day in Northern Oregon so we wanted to take Chill’n somewhere he could get in the water. This is a busy, but very dog friendly park with a ton of hiking.

Thanks for stopping bye.
We drove out to MT Hood National Forest. We enjoyed hiking under the forest canopy it makes it nice and cool for hiking.

Thanks for visiting.
Since we got Chill’n the full time RVing dog a few months ago we spend some time looking for local dog parks where ever our travels take us. Molalla River State Park has a couple of different dog areas but neither are fenced in. There are several hiking trails and some go down to the river. Beautiful easy hiking.

Thanks for visiting.
This is a huge state park the kind you want to pack a lunch and stay all day. The images below are of North Falls Trail. It was not dog friendly on the trail so we headed down to the South Falls Trail which is dog friendly on some trails.

We have plans to return and hike to North Falls to shoot that. Thanks for visiting our blog.
We got a couple of nice days of weather so we tried to make the most of them. We went looking for a state park in the city of Canby and we found a ferry.

From here we headed to Willamette Falls in Oregon City. It was a bit of a surprise to see such an industrial setting for waterfalls.

Thanks for visiting
In these crazy times we hear a lot about the travel industry hurting from the virus, but usually their talking about airlines and cruise lines, but for the RV community our small business in a lot of case are the mom and pop RV parks. As a community we need to support them so as we travel we will have safe places to park and enjoy the local sights.
If your in the Twin Falls ID area please support The Oregon Trails campground. http://oregontrailcampground.com/ A new generation has taken over the campground and they due an awesome job caring for their customer to ensure that they have a great stay in the area. The campground is clean, quiet, and close to local attractions.
If your in the Baker City OR area please support Mt. View RV http://www.mtviewrv.com/ this is a family owned and operated campground. This is a clean and quiet place and they are currently experiencing a large number of cancellations due the virus and peoples fear of traveling. We have found the owner to be friendly, helpful, and we’re totally enjoying our stay so much we extended our stay by 5 days.
Please support the mom and pop RV parks along your travels so we will continue to have safe places along our travels.
3 weeks ago we were stuck in a Presidential campaign cycle. We had one candidate I would characterize as a establishment candidate supported by all the politicians that don’t have enough power and have been in our government way to long. The second candidate is a self proclaimed socialist, who has to be doing back flips based on our governments reaction to the Coronavirus. Lastly we have the current administration that seemed to be for smaller government and more freedom for the individual. Fast foreword 3 weeks and none of that is making news instead we are being force feed fear about a virus that is so deadly we need to social distance ( new label ) to survive. The only problem I have with that is, I would think by now I would know someone who as the virus or died from the virus but I don’t! I do however know a lot of people who have died financially from the government guidelines.
We should think carefully about allowing ourselves to become dependent on our government, one might say selling our sole to the devil. Right now it might seem like a good idea because the government is going to give money to people so they can financially survive this Pandemic. But what will be the real price be for the free money? Lets take our son who is a valet at a local casino that is now closed for 3 weeks. For him he can file for unemployment which sounds great except that 1 week of unemployment doesn’t even cover 1 night of tips. Although the government is feeling pretty good about it’s self I know my son is still worried about how he is going to survive and take care of his family.
Remember this is the oldest marketing strategy in the world; everything is free while you want it, but once you need it, now it becomes expensive. which government do you want;
We the people, by the people, and for the people.
We the government, by ourselves, and for ourselves.
November will be here before we know it. With all this new time we have on our hands hopefully we think about what kind of future we want for our country.
