In nature erosion is a powerful artist! Through expansion and contraction, wind and rain, the artist creates a beautiful masterpiece. Just as a potter knows how much pressure to apply to the clay, and where to apply it to make a beautiful masterpiece, so does our Creator know how to create his masterpiece out of our mess. In the first part of Romans 11:2 Paul tells his readers that God has not rejected his chosen people, but in fact God had chosen them from the very beginning.
“No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the beginning. Romans 11:2a (NLT)
I find great comfort in knowing I was not an afterthought to God, but a forethought!
Do we suffer erosion in our life as human beings? Do we submit to the potter so he can have his way with us to create his masterpiece?
Chill’n, Darla and I feel we have been given an opportunity to do something very special to us; live our life in faith, travel with Jesus and the see things he wants us to see, doing the work he wants us to do, where he wants us to be. We are excited to start the adventure on the road with Jesus, but a life of faith is lived on God’s time-table, according to his plan and will, for his glory.
So we have a recipe above, but how do we combine the ingredients to make the masterpiece God saw before the foundations of the heavens and earth? While the answer to that question is likely different for everyone there seem to be some staple ingredients in God’s pantry;
First ingredient, Personal Relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, son of God and Man.
Second ingredient, Prayer which is a spiritual word for communication with God.
Third ingredient, Obedience to his instruction and corrections.
Now when combining the above ingredients, do this with loving kindness, gently making sure not to over work the ingredients. combine ingredients until you see it form; wisdom, understanding, knowledge, loyalty, kindness, and most important Love.
After mixture cools you should have a life of faith worth getting out of bed for everyday that God blesses you with a day. sprinkle with grace as necessary.
Father I thank you for your son Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Thank you for the grace I have in your Son. Thank you Father that your human creation was a forethought not an afterthought.
In Jesus name I prayer . Amen.
